Tulux represents the Swiss values of precision, durability and safety. Tulux ensures these qualities through a series of comprehensive measurements and tests – in its own in-house measurement and testing centre with an integrated lighting laboratory for selected photometric and spectroradiometric measurements. Ensured and documented:

1. Safety
All SWISS LIGHT CREATIONS are tested to ensure that they are electrically, mechanically and thermally safe.

2. Durability
All Tulux luminaires are subject to protection class testing. They are tested for resistance to dust, solid foreign bodies and water (IP protection) and resistance to heating.

3. Compatibility
All SWISS LIGHT CREATIONS are tested for their electromagnetic compatibility. Tulux determines the immunity to interference and ensures that every luminaire does not influence other devices during operation and does not have any undue repercussions for the power supply.

4. Lighting quality

At Tulux’s lighting laboratory, we test luminaires and lamps using state-of-the-art measurement technology. Our accredited testing services include the measurement of luminous flux and partial luminous flux, the determination of luminous intensity distribution, the measurement of electrical power, and the determination of colour coordinates. In addition, outside the scope of our accreditation, we analyse further photometric properties such as luminance, colour rendering and colour temperature. Furthermore, we assess the operational efficiency of luminaires and test their photobiological safety.

Standards and guidelines
The tests and measurements are based on the following standards and guidelines: Low Voltage Directive, EMC Directive, EN product safety standards, EN standard for the measurement and presentation of photometric data of lamps and luminaires.
